Happy Father’s Day weekend. Hope everyone is enjoying the ☀️ sunshine (and rain). I’m Carlos Eats, back in your inbox to update you on the latest happenings in the food world in the Tampa area. There is plenty to catch you up on, so let’s get started.
🍽️ What I’ve been eating:
I had the pleasure of going to Boulon Tampa for a tasting this past weekend and it was delicious. I loved everything on the menu including their charcuterie board, smashburger and desserts. My favorite thing on the menu though was this salmon carpaccio. It came with beets on it and I was impressed with how all the flavors blended together. I recommend splitting some apps and enjoying brunch at Boulon. Their cocktails are also excellent.
Really loved the food at the Dave’s Hot Chicken media night. The cheese fries were delish and so was this mac and cheese that I ordered. Of course, the best thing was the chicken. You know how sometimes dry rubbed chicken is too dry, not this chicken. It was moist and delicious! Recommend. I loved the bread for the sandwich too, it easily beats down any fast food competitor in the chicken category.

News:
Dave’s Hot Chicken is now in open next to the University of South Florida in Tampa off of Fowler Ave and near Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. It is located at 2540 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa, FL 33612. I stopped by on their media night earlier this week and was impressed with the crispiness and juiciness of the chicken. The heat level is fully customizable as well so don’t be afraid if you’re sensitive to spicy food. If you’re on a budget then skip the soda to save a few bucks. (WFLA)
